Amels 206 Joins Limited Editions Lineup

For more than a decade, Amels has offered buyers a number of Limited Editions models. In that time, the Dutch yacht builder has retired some models in favor of different ones. It’s doing so once again. Picking up where the Amels 199 left off, the builder is introducing the Amels 206.

If you remember the Amels 199, of which Event was the first delivery, no doubt her handful of large circular ports come to mind. The newest Limited Editions megayacht incorporates a similar stylistic approach. It’s from the same designer, too, Tim Heywood. He, as you may also recall, is further responsible for the full Limited Editions range’s exterior looks.

Speaking of looks, the silver-metallic and jet-black paint combination in the rendering above should make passers-by sit up and take notice. (Maybe even takes notes, too. It’s getting quite a reaction on Amels’ Facebook page as of press time, less than 24 hours after reveal.) While the appearance marks a first for the Limited Editions range, it isn’t obligatory. In fact, Amels says customers can work with Tim Heywood and its own team to combine their preferred colors.

With an LOA of 205 feet (62.4 meters), the Amels 206 has several additional eye-catching elements. When cruising, she shows off three circular ports on her transom. However, once at anchor, a transformation can begin. First, the swim platform serves as the literal jumping-off point for swimmers. Second, the transom door can swing up to reveal a beach-club lounge, a gym, or whatever other room a client wants. Fully forward, when the helipad isn’t in use, guests can enjoy a C-shape lounge. Furthermore, the Amels 206 has an indoor-outdoor sundeck lounge up top.

In keeping with the overall Limited Editions philosophy, the interior of the Amels 206 is yours to design. Clients can bring their own designer to the project, or work with yachting professionals like Laura Sessa and Andrew Winch, each of whom have each collaborated with the yard on previous projects. The suggested interior layout places the full-beam master suite just behind the large circular ports on the main deck.
