Dutch superyacht builder Royal Huisman has announced that the 58.5m / 192ft PHI has left the group's new-build facility in Vollenhove and is on its way to Royal Huisman Amsterdam to begin sea trials.

Developed and constructed below 500GT, PHI is by far the longest motoryacht in this category, based on current Classification rules. The custom yacht features exterior design by Cor D. Rover and interior styling by Lawson Robb, and has been constructed for an experienced yachtsman who was very involved in the design and build process. Her all-aluminium hull and superstructure is the work of Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

Phi features various innovative design features including curved sleek lines, with her hull inspiration coming from the hood of a cobra to give a menacing appearance. A defining feature is her glass-fronted 'nooks' in the bulwarks on her bridge deck and owner's deck that can be used as recliners. Phi's main deck aft swimming pool is just under 7-metres in length and can be filled with fresh or sea water. Cor D. Rover designed the floor of the pool to be maneuverable to cover the pool when underway.

"All of us involved in the creation of PHI feel a sense of privilege to have had the opportunity to contribute to this innovative project. The co-operation between the owner's team, the architects, the designers and everyone at Royal Huisman has been exceptional. We can be justifiably proud of what we have achieved," says the Owner's Representative Guy Booth.

PHI is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be supported by a matching 36m / 118ft shadow vessel (also designed by the same designers and constructed at Alia Yachts). Without doubt, both PHI and her fleet will leave a lasting impression.
