Greek shipyard Golden Yachts has collaborated with Phathom Studio to reveal a 65-metre concept named Vesper.
The model has been designed with a new generation of yacht owners in mind, with a representative of Phathom explaining that new buyers prefer "a more casual use of the vessel with family and friends". The result is a reconfigured layout that sees the designers play with light and space in a bid to create more connected onboard spaces. Large expanses of glass will facilitate unobstructed exterior views and an abundance of natural light to complement the interior's calm tones and textures.
Vesper's configuration and continuous link between decks aims to create a yacht "more akin to an architectural residence than a typical 65 metre superyacht". This begins with the accommodation layout, which features five similarly sized cabins on the lower deck, with an additional sixth VIP cabin on the upper deck. Spanning a two-level apartment, the owner's suite comprises a his-and-hers en suite, a wardrobe and a large open-connect lounge with an adjoining study. Guests will also benefit from the private balcony through pantograph doors – which will open up to an infinity-edged spa pool, rock water wall and an outdoor lounge area.
This aligns with the concept's focus on wellness, for both physical and mental wellbeing. In a change from the norm, the sauna and steam room will be located on the sundeck where guests can enjoy the views through oversized glass windows. This accompanies a larger wellness area, which comprises the entire enclosed portion of the sundeck. This can be configured in a number of arrangements, such as a gym, a day galley, or juice bar. Forward, there will be a private sundeck area outfitted with an infinity-edge spa pool and an ample area for sun lounging.
Rather than a more mirrored conventional arrangement, the main deck will be split into multiple convivial zones to create a more casual ambience – allowing guests to split amongst themself while still being in the same space or to gather together. This divide between isolated and gathering spaces extends to the beach club, which will feature an oversized infinity-edge pool and will be divided by a "glass wall with a pool bar that connects swimmers to guests in the beach club".
Consideration has also been paid to the technology standards of younger yacht buyers. This includes human-centric lighting, where large panels and domes illuminate behind canvas panels to emit self-adjusting light that mimics the actual state of outdoor light.
There will also be provisions for all manner of water toys and two three-seater Waverunners. The yacht will be capable of accommodating two tenders: a seven-plus-metre in the beach area for guests, as well as a six-metre SOLAS-approved tender, recessed under the foredeck. Two additional tenders placed on top of the bow is another option.
Vesper marks an exciting collaboration for the shipyard and for Phathom, a young Dutch studio best known for its work on Gulf Craft's Majesty 111.
