TYDE, in partnership with BMW and the innovative Designworks subsidiary of the BMW Group, is set to revolutionize maritime mobility once again. Following the success of their first collaborative project, The Icon, the world's first battery-powered maritime vehicle, the duo is now introducing an open luxury yacht that combines cutting-edge automotive technology with sustainable design.
The Icon, recognized for its innovative concept with accolades like the "Wallpaper Smart Space Award" and the "Boat Builder Award," showcased the potential of sustainable mobility on the water. Building on this success, the latest project introduces the first climate-friendly open luxury yacht designed for private individuals. This innovative watercraft promises a transformed user experience, advanced automotive technology, radical innovations, and progressive design.
Christoph Ballin, co-founder and Managing Director of TYDE, expresses the ambition behind the project: "With The Icon, we have shown how elegant and luxurious sustainable mobility on the water can be. The continuation of the cooperation with BMW is now fueling the launch into another segment. The new model brings future-oriented mobility to the day yacht segment."
BMW, committed to sustainable drive technologies, contributes components and electromobility expertise to the project, aligning with TYDE's concept, development, production, and marketing efforts. The renowned Designworks studio of the BMW Group is responsible for the design.
Measuring just under 15 meters, the yacht offers all the luxuries of a day yacht without emissions during operation. The innovative foiling technology, where the vehicle rests on hydrofoils beneath the water while the hull floats above, not only saves nearly 80% energy but also ensures an exceptionally smooth ride, even in challenging waters.
Beyond its technological marvel, the yacht's interior boasts a luxurious and luminous ambiance. Natural light floods the saloon from various angles, enhancing the overall onboard experience.
TYDE and BMW, with this project, showcase a fresh perspective on electrification, sustainability, and innovations in maritime mobility. The announcement of the new Day Yacht, available for order at the 28th World Climate Change Conference in Dubai this December, marks a significant step towards a more sustainable and sophisticated future in yacht design. The first deliveries are anticipated in the autumn of 2024.
TYDE realizes high-tech yachts for the highest demands with integrity towards future generations. Founded in 2021, the company is based on the shores of Lake Starnberg near Munich.
