Bering says it is drawing upon the experience of more than fifteen years of manufacturing expedition trawler-type full-displacement steel yachts to establish its new brand of fully aluminium expedition catamarans.
The shipyard says the B60 CAT and B80 CAT, the two inaugural catamaran models, are made for leisure and are capable of trans-Atlantic travel.
“It is difficult to hold down my excitement,” says the founder of Bering Yachts, Alexei Mikhailov. “Making catamarans has been a long dream of mine, and finally we are here. Just like with our yachts, we will make these boats both very comfortable and capable of going anywhere you might imagine.”
Measuring 18.7 metres long, the B60 CAT has an 8.6-metre beam, displaces 55 tons, and offers layout flexibility. This three-deck boat can be built with 4, 5, or even 6 staterooms. The catamaran also features three isolated external zones, a spacious deck, sunpads, a lazarette, and a 9sqm rising platform for water activities.
B60 CAT has a maximum speed of 13 knots and can travel up to 3,000 nautical miles non-stop at 9-10 knots of cruise speed, according to Bering. The first of the B60 CAT boats has already been sold.
