The hull for the latest Jangada, a 35-meter custom yacht, has arrived at Van der Valk’s shipyard in Waalwijk, marking a significant milestone in the build process. This project, commissioned by a repeat client, represents the third Jangada yacht and the largest raised pilothouse ever constructed by Van der Valk.
The steel hull, crafted by Buijs Brothers Shipbuilders, made an imposing entrance as it was hoisted out of the water and transported into one of Van der Valk’s construction halls. This hull, a key component of the yacht’s design, was specially requested by the owner to ensure superior noise and vibration attenuation, a feature that distinguishes this vessel from the shipyard’s usual aluminum builds.
The new Jangada is a fully custom project, designed by Nick Top and Guido de Groot in close collaboration with the owner. The design team has worked extensively to translate the client’s vision into a sophisticated and innovative yacht. With the hull now in place, Van der Valk’s technical team, including engineers, electricians, painters, and interior builders, have approximately 18 months to complete the yacht.
This project continues Van der Valk’s tradition of delivering highly personalized yachts, leveraging the expertise of partners like Buijs Brothers, who bring over 150 years of shipbuilding experience to the table.
Van der Valk is a family-run company building comfortable, innovative and efficient (semi) custom motor yachts from 18m to 45m. From its humble roots in the 1960s, Van der Valk today has a global fleet of over 1000 motor yachts.
