If there’s one design movement that demonstrates staying power better than any other, it’s Art Deco. The post-war era is most famously represented by New York City’s Empire State Building and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby. Its strong colors and precise geometric shapes also translate well to yachting, with Phoenix 2, Sycara IV, and classic yacht Malahne all striking examples.

The 46.3-metre motor yacht Lucky Me is newly listed for sale by Florian Vinciguerra of BehneMar. Built of aluminium by Italian yard Baglietto and delivered in 2016, the fast displacement yacht has suitably dynamic exterior lines by Francesco Paszkowski, who also planned the interior layout alongside Baglietto.

The Second Love was delivered by her US-based builder in 2004 and showcases exterior design, interior design and naval architecture entirely crafted by Trinity Yachts, LLC.The boat can accommodate up to 10 guests across five staterooms, with space for a crew of up to seven members.

Griffon Hoverwork is one step closer to making “hovertravel” a reality in East Asia. The British outfit just announced its bonkers new 12000TD hovercraft has completed sea trials in the U.K, as reported by Marine Industry News. The vessel is now heading to Japan to establish a new passenger service between Oita Airport and Oita City.

Finnish shipyard Baltic Yachts has delivered its 33.5-metre sailing yacht Zemi following successful sea trials in Jakobstad. Named after an ancient Caribbean deity, Zemi is a Baltic 110 Custom characterised by a metallic bronze hull, low-profile coach roof and teak deck that curves over the lip of the transom.
