An Aman hotel will be redeveloped out of New York's Crown Building. It will be the luxury resort operator's first urban property in the U.S.
Aman New York will have 83 rooms and 20 luxury residences with Central Park views. The property will occupy all but the first three floors of the building, which have retail space. The hotel is slated to open in 2020.
The hotel will feature the two-story Sky Lobby, the Garden Terrace restaurant on the building's tenth floor, a jazz club, a Japanese restaurant called Nama and a private Members Club.
The hotel's five-story penthouse will have indoor and outdoor pools, while its three-story spa will include an 80-foot-long indoor swimming pool flanked by double day beds and fire pits.
Aman opened its only urban property in Tokyo in late 2014 It oversees two U.S. resorts: Utah's Amangiri and Wyoming's Amangani.
Located two blocks south of Central Park, the Crown Building opened in 1921 and was the first home of the Museum of Modern Art.
