Following a year of strong growth across Asia, Best Western Hotels & Resorts has even more new hotels lined up to launch in key business and leisure destinations across the region.
Across Asia, Best Western opened nine new hotels this year in Myanmar, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, including two entirely new brands to the region—BW Premier Collection and SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western. Now that the company has signed another eight new hotels in Japan, Thailand and Vietnam in 2017, Best Western’s regional pipeline totals 24 hotels with more than 1,000 guestrooms.
“Since 2015, we have launched eight new global brands, taking our total portfolio to 11 brands covering almost every section of the market, from economy SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western to upper-upscale BW Premier Collection," Olivier Berrivin, Best Western’s MD of international operations, Asia, said in a statement.
Best Western is not waiting up to begin expanding across the region. Before the end of 2017, two new hotels—Best Western Kamala Jimbaran in Bali and Best Western Kindai Hotel in Benjamas—are already scheduled to open in Indonesia.
In 2018, five more Best Western-branded hotels are on track to begin operating, including Best Western Sapporo Odori-Koen and Best Western Yamagata Airport in Japan, Best Western Hotel Metro Clark in the Philippines, Best Western Ahlone in Myanmar’s commercial capital Yangon and Vib Sanam Pao in Bangkok. The new-build Vib hotel will mark the new hotel concept's debut in Asia.
Launching in 2019 and 2020, another eleven new Best Western-branded hotels are part of the development pipeline, with five lined up for Thailand. With Best Western Prime Square, the company will make their initial venture into Chiang Mai while Best Western Premier Bayphere is set to be Best Western’s first hotel in Pattaya. Best Western will follow up these openings with BluPhere Pattaya, BW Premier Collection, a beachfront property on the Gulf of Thailand. Best Western Chatuchak will be developed near Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market as Best Western Nada Don Mueang will be one of the closest hotels to Bangkok's rapidly expanding low-cost carrier terminal Don Mueang International Airport. Opening in Lahore, Best Western Premier Hotel Gulberg will be Best Western's first upscale property in Pakistan. Rounding out the list, the Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc beachfront hotel on Phu Quoc Island will be Best Western’s next project in Vietnam.
Best Western's portfolio now totals 55 hotels and resorts in destinations across Asia with more than 7,400 guestrooms and suites, increasing the group's current portfolio of 4,200 hotels in more than 100 countries and territories. These properties operate under Best Western's 11 hotel brands: Best Western, Best Western Plus, Best Western Premier, Vib, Glo, Executive Residency by Best Western, BW Premier Collection, BW Signature Collection by Best Western, SureStay Hotel by Best Western, SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western and SureStay Collection by Best Western.
