Dream Hotel Group begins development in Srpings

Developed by Selene International, in partnership with Dream Hotel Group, Dream Palm Springs began development in Palm Springs, Calif. Located on the corner of Amado Road and Calle Alvarado, adjacent to the Convention Center, the 169-room hotel pairs executive architect Oswaldo D. Lopez with Hirsch Bedner Associates for design and is expected to open with 30 private residences, multiple experiential dining and nightlife venues and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space in late 2019.

The groundbreaking ceremony for this $100 million development took place on Nov. 28, 2017, and included Mayor Robert Moon as keynote speaker, as well as members of the Dream team, developer Lauri Kibby and Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein, among others.

The opening of Dream Palm Springs is part of a larger economic development plan for the city of Palm Springs. Dream Palm Springs is expected to generate tax revenue and create new jobs, while also offering the growing residential and business communities a new reason to work and play in the neighborhood surrounding downtown Palm Springs.

“The Palm Springs Convention Center is a major economic driver in our city, and Dream Palm Springs is an extraordinary lodging, dining and meeting venue that will provide a tremendous attraction to high-end convention business,” Moon said. “In addition, the residential component of the Dream Hotel complex is a brilliant and innovative concept that will make available luxury primary or secondary residences that have the convenience of onsite hotel services.”

Dream Palm Springs will open with 169 rooms, 30 private residences, multiple restaurants and bars, and more than 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in late 2019. Located in downtown Palm Springs, the hotel will support the local community and the 12.9 million tourists that come to Coachella Valley each year.

Dream Hotel Group recently announced $1.5 billion in new hotel development, including Palm Springs and five other locations, all with independent hotel development partners. Future U.S. locations include Nashville, Dallas and Palm Springs, with additional international openings in Doha, Qatar; New Delhi, India; and Carabao Island in the Philippines.
