Former Four Seasons executive named new Jumeirah CEO

As the new CEO for Dubai Holding’s hotels arm Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, Jose Silva will be responsible for Jumeirah’s international expansion and portfolio growth.

“I have always admired Jumeirah for its ‘dare to be different’ culture and its forward-looking vision,” Silva said in a statement, emphasizing that he is “fully committed” to leading the business and the brand into its next level of growth. “Jumeirah is one of Dubai’s most iconic brands and a symbol of the Emirate,” he said.

Silva is a 35-year hospitality veteran, and has spent almost 25 years with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. He was originally RVP leading the France, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal division at Four Seasons and GM of the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, where he converted the property into the first five-Michelin-star European Hotel after spearheading its complete renovation.

Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts operates a portfolio of hotels and resorts of 19 properties around the world. Another 25 properties are currently under development.

Investor Dubai Holding manages an AED 130-billion portfolio of assets in tourism, hospitality, real estate, media, ICT, education, design and trade of Dubai’s most successful business communities, developer Dubai Properties and Arab Media Group.

Dubai Holding’s current project pipeline includes Marsa Al Arab, Emirates Towers Business Park and Dubai Creek Harbour, a JV with Emaar Properties to build a waterfront city.
