The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino completed a property-wide upgrade, including new decor and design in the 411 guest rooms and replacement of bathtubs with standing showers.
The adults-only, 52-room Tradewinds Club relocated its lounge to the ground level, steps away from the H2Oasis pool, and added three new guest rooms. Tradewinds Club offers pre-arrival service, an exclusive check-in and concierge, reserved beach seating and upgraded amenities.
Among conservation initiatives, the resort now houses smart thermostats that react with guests' movements to save energy. It also is transitioning from gas to solar power with the installation of solar panels. All plastic and foam boxes as well as restaurant straws have changed to acrylic-made products.
The Ruth's Chris Steak House has an upgraded design and a new stainless steel and glass bar.
"We're pleased with the feedback from our guests after they experienced the new room product and elevated atmosphere throughout the hotel," said Tom Calame, general manager.
He said the outlook for 2018 is strong. "We're seeing great numbers this winter and beyond. Bookings are above where we were last year at this time."
Most of the Marriott's guests are from the U.S. and typically stay from three to five nights. Repeat guests make up 40% of total bookings.
