New Radisson Blu to open in Saudi Arabia

Radisson Hotel Group subsidiary Radisson Hospitality has signed a deal to open the Radisson Blu Hotel, Al Ahsa in Saudi Arabia.

When it opens in 2002, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Al Ahsa will be in the city center of Al Ahsa, southeast of the city of Al Khobar. The 172-room property will be near Al Ahsa Airport and Al Ahsa University.

The new Radisson Blu will be the latest project involved in the KSA Vision 2030 investment initiative. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aims to boost tourism growth by investing in entertainment projects in the Al Ahsa region.
 
 The hotel will be Radisson's 12th hotel in the Eastern Province. The property will also be the latest addition to the group's portfolio of 40 hotels with more than 10,000 guestrooms operating and under development across Saudi Arabia. “Saudi Arabia continues to be a key country for our growth ambition. The Vision 2030 of the Kingdom’s leadership will positively transform the country’s social and economic landscape in both primary and secondary cities and we are at the forefront of co-fueling this passion in the travel and tourism landscape,” said Elie Younes, EVP & CCDO of Radisson Hotel Group, in a statement.

This recent signing in the kingdom follows the opening of two Park Inn by Radisson hotels in late March 2018. The 201-room Park Inn by Radisson Hotel & Apartments Dammam Industrial City is in the center of Dammam’s second Industry City near the Dammam city center, the Saudi Aramco oil refinery and the King Abdul Aziz Sea Port. The property’s 104 serviced apartments are scheduled to open later this summer. Meanwhile, the 161-room Park Inn by Radisson Jubail Industrial City opened in a residential area of the Jubail industrial city. The property is near the offices of international companies and the restaurants, shopping malls and beachside of the Fanateer District.
 
An additional Park Inn opened in Najran, Saudi Arabia in early March 2018 as Radisson’s first hotel in the city. The 113-room Park Inn by Radisson, Najran is in the Al Fahad District near Najran Football Stadium, the city’s shopping centers and historic attractions, including Turki Al Madi Palace, Raoum Castle and Najran Valley Dam.
