Sceletium (Kanna) Is a small groundcover succulent native to Southern Africa. Its uniqueness as a novel biological resource for the region is its apparent nature of being geographically unstable. In other words, it may be grown in areas outside of Southern Africa but will have very little medicinal value due to the lack of commercially viable amounts of alkaloids being present. Many different forms of Sceletium are available and are being successfully marketed primarily as a fast acting, natural mood-enhancer that has the ability to diminish social anxiety and physical pain alike.
