Woodhaven Inds. to make High Point Market debut
The company, which will have a 6,000-square-foot showroom in the Home Fashions Resource Center at 312 S. Hamilton St., has been producing furniture and bedding for more than 40 years - nearly all of it for Aaron's stores. However, products that will be shown at market were developed exclusively for the furniture retail channel, the company said.
"We're very excited about unveiling our expanded line of upholstered furniture and bedding at High Point," said Mike Jarnagin, vice president of Woodhaven. "For 40 years, we've built furniture enjoyed in homes across America. Because we control the quality, cost, delivery, styling, durability, and quantity of our furniture products, our customer benefits by having access to the most popular pieces at affordable pricing."
Jarnagin wouldn't disclose specific price points for the new lines, but said marketing efforts would be centered on a "Made in USA" story, as well as the company's sustainability practices.
He said Woodhaven recycles more than 10 million pounds of material annually and has reduced waste sent to landfills from its plants by 92%. The company received the "Green Save Award" from the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2011.
"We stay in front of the trends in order to offer the most current and popular products demanded by the consumer," Jarnagin said.
Woodhaven has two upholstery and eight bedding plants, and more than 750 employees.
According to Aaron's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company had revenues of $89.4 million in 2011 and $95.7 million in 2012, the latest year for which data is available.
Nearly all of Woodhaven's revenue is excluded from Aaron's total revenue since its products primarily have been made for Aaron's stores.
