From July 11 to July 13, 2016, the 13^th plenary meeting of ISO/TC 136 was held in Copenhagen-the capital of Demark. More than 30 expert representatives from China, America, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, etc. attended the meeting. Chairman of China National Furniture Association-Zhu Changling, deputy secretary-general-Tu Qi, professor of engineer of Shanghai Institute of Quality Inspection and Technical Research and the convener of ISO/TC 136/WG4 meeting-Luo Jufen, the secretariat secretary of National Technical Committee on Furniture of Standardization Administration of China-Liu Chenguang and other Chinese representatives attended the meeting.

ISO/TC 136 plenary meeting and the working group meeting are the supreme authority meetings in the field of international standardization furniture products. This annual meeting was hosted by the new chairman Marco Forssi (from Italy) and the main agendas of the meeting are as follows: Listen to the report about the whole formulating procedure of ISO standard and the changing conditions of ISO/IEC guidelines from the ISO technical manager; listen to the report about the working groups conditions of 5 working groups of ISO/TC 136; discuss the working scope of the newly established children furniture working group; discuss and confirm the formulating principle of ISO/TC 136 standards and so on. At the meeting, experts from all over the world accepted the invitation of Zhu Changling-chairman of China National Furniture Association, and agreed that the 15^th ISO/TC 136 annual meeting and relevant working group meeting are to be held in China.

At the working group meeting on July 12 and July 13, experts from all over the world further discussed the draft standard and technical problems of the stability, intensity and durability standards of ISO tables and chairs. On some technical aspects, Chinese experts put forward their own opinions and got the recognition of participating experts. Finally, under the positive efforts of all parties, the agenda is completed and the desired effect is achieved.
