Monspace Multinational Corp has launched its latest innovation, a smart massage chair, at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
As our quality of life increases, smart features are increasingly sought after. Technological advancements such as the internet and cloud computing has propelled this trend.
A report by Research and Markets indicates that smart furniture will see an 8%-10% annual growth in the next five years and will become a US$68bil industry by 2018.
“Monspace Multinational Corp taps into the endless potential of smart home living, riding on the market’s anticipation for simplicity and convenience in everyday life, and consumers’ increasing purchasing power.
“Smart home living is here to make our lives more elegant, convenient and enjoyable,” said the company’s chief executive officer Datuk Seri Jessy Lai at the launch.
Also present were Sofo chief executive officer K.L. Chen as well as the company’s founder, Yuan Zhen Ping.
Since its founding in 2014, Monspace has explored territories such as online shopping, tourism, aviation, entertainment, property, finance, agriculture, F&B and telecommunications.
Its new investment in Sofo seeks to bring modern and high-tech home living into Malaysia.
Sofo was founded in 1997 and is based in Guangzhou, China. It specialises in the research, production, sales and service of health products with a focus on Chinese massage, physiotherapy, beauty and exercise.
Its products are sold in more than 80 countries worldwide.
The massage chair designed and produced by Sofo aim to change the perception that massage chairs are clumsy and take up too much space.
“This chair reclines to a maximum of 132˚. Users only need to leave 10cm between the chair and the wall behind it. This is a great improvement compared to conventional massage chairs, where 0.5m to 1m is required,” said Chen.
The key to this is an in-built motor that moves the chair forward on its track as it reclines.
“After a busy day of work, resting at home and having your muscles massaged is immensely helpful to both our physical and mental wellbeing,” said Chen.
Lai said the public can expect more collaborations between Monspace and Sofo.
“We are in the process of forming a research centre for smart furniture to provide even more high quality options for consumers,” she said.
The chair can be purchased at Monspace Mall.
