Repainting service standard

In Nov. 2017, China National Coatings Industry Association approves to issue the group standard of the specification of Acceptance Check and Painting Operation for Repainting Service of Interior House Wall and Wood ware (T/CNCIA02002-2017). The Standard was formally carried out on Jan. 1, 2018.

The Standard targets at ensuring the quality of repainting service of interior house wall and wood ware, abiding by the environmental protection requirements and ensuring that household articles of customers will not be affected by construction and service quality can be improved.  

The Standard regulates the terms, definition, requirements, basic inspection, furniture removal, shield protection, base layer, materials, construction preparation, construction, dismantlement protection, returning to the original place of furniture, acceptance of repainting service of interior house wall and wood ware, and is applicable to all the repainting service of interior house wall and wood ware.

Modification for furniture technical requirements

Three national furniture standards of GB/T3325-2017 Metal Furniture-General Technical Requirements, GB/T3324-2017 Wooden Furniture-General Technical Requirements and GB/T34441-2017 Evaluation on Combustion Performance of Soft Furniture Mattresses approved by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China and Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China will be carried out on April 1, 2018 and May 1, 2018. 

The new Metal Furniture-General Technical Requirements mainly specifies the inapplicable scope, adds regulations of classification, modifies the structure of the Standard, reclassifies other requirements and include them into appearance performance, physical and chemical performance and safety performance, etc.

The new Wooden Furniture-General Technical Requirements mainly modifies the definition of real wood furniture and veneer surface and adds the definition of plate furniture; Modifies the classification of products and main dimensions of desk, cabinet, chair, bench and bed; Modifies the requirement for amount of release and test method of formaldehyde, adds the requirement for limit quantity of VOC and test method and adds the requirement for decomposable aromatic amine and test method of leather and textile fabric.

Stricter requirements for formaldehyde release

The new modified national standard GB18580-2017 Indoor Decorating and Refurbishing Materials - Limit of Formaldehyde Emission of Wood-based Panels and Fishing Products issued in May of 2017 will be formally carried out on May 1, 2018. 

Compared with the original standard, the new standard modifies the inspection method of formaldehyde and the limit amount of release of formaldehyde, regulates that the limit amount of formaldehyde in artificial board and its manufacturing products for materials of indoor decoration and fitment is 0.124 mg/m3, the label of limit amount is E1. The original E2 grade is canceled. 

In addition, the new national standard also cancels the limit amount of release of formaldehyde of the desiccator method and the perforation extraction method in the original standard. The test method of release amount of formaldehyde is unified and the "1 m3 climate box method" is adopted. 

Tree categories of redwood products may be altered. 

On Dec. 9, 2017, the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China issued the No. 32 announcement of 2017: The new modified GB/T18107-2017 Redwood will be formally carried out on Jul. 1, 2018, replacing the standard formulated in 2000. GB/T35475-2017 Specifications for Use of Redwood Product will be carried out at the same time. 

Specifications for Use of Redwood Product specifies the definition and classification of redwood products, and tree variety, heartwood and sapwood, material property, water content and inspection method of materials of redwood products. Redwood specifies the name of redwood variety and categories and characteristics of timber and strictly defines the meaning and scope of "redwood".
