Recently, the first international standard Test Method for Stability, Strength and Durability of Furniture and Bed in the furniture field dominated and formulated by our country has been formally published.

It realizes the breakthrough without formulation of international standard in Chinese furniture field, effectively fills up the blank of the international standard in the determination of strength and durability of furniture and beds, and marks the promotion of the right of speech of the international standard formulation of Chinese furniture industry, and is significant to transformation of our country to furniture manufacturing powerful country.

Shanghai Institute of Quality Inspection and Technical Research (hereinafter referred to as SIQITR) took the lead to formulate the international standard ISO19833: 2018 Test Method for Stability, Strength and Durability of Furniture and Bed, and was formally published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in March of this year.

The international standard ISO 19833 Test Method for Stability, Strength and Durability of Furniture and Bed published this time specifies the contents such as test environment, test equipment, test method, recommended index, requirement of application of force and tolerance of beds products. The Standard firstly classifies the beds products into single bed screen, double bed screen and no bed screen for testing in the bed horizontal test, and it has higher applicability and operability to adapt to the numerous and complicated product design on the market.
