China's online retail sales exceeded nine trillion yuan in 2018, spokesperson Gao Feng said during the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) regular press conference on Thursday.

The Business to Consumer (B2C) model has seen its market share reach 62.8 percent, up by 4.4 percentage points from the previous year. Smart products such as smart watches, smart speakers, and translators are favored by consumers, with sells increase of more than 80 percent year-on-year. Sells of cosmetics and furniture also achieved rapid growth, with growth rates of 36.2 percent and 30.1 percent respectively, according to MOFCOM.
