What type of furniture does Chinese consumers prefer? 618 Jingdong Shopping Festival speaks

In the early morning of June 19, Jingdong announced the final record of 618 this year: from 0:00 on June 1, 2019 to 24 o'clock on June 18, the cumulative order amount reached 2015 billion yuan, an increase of 26.57% over the same period last year.

 

The 618 initiated by Jingdong has become a feast of consumption throughout China, and together with 750 million consumers, it has drawn a picture of the Chinese consumer market.

 

With the tide of consumption upgrades spreading from first- and second-tier cities to third- and sixth-tier cities, the transaction volume of Jingdong Fashion Home Platform Group grew by more than 138% in the first half of the year on June 18, and the turnover of Jingdong Home was more than 135%.

 

Among them, the sales volume of home improvement building materials and households in the first 10 minutes of daily use increased by more than 200%, and the transaction value of self-operated furniture in the first minute increased by 377%.

 

The personalization of furniture consumption is highlighted, showing six major trends such as new domestic products and new styles, and the whole house customization.

 

Trend 1: The user group is young, new domestic products, new styles are popular.

In the first 15 minutes of June 18, the turnover of Italian-style post-modern furniture increased by 665% year-on-year; the turnover of new Chinese furniture in the first 10 minutes of June 1 increased by 107% compared with the same period of last year.

 

Trend 2: Preferred high quality, self-operated furniture and high-end imported furniture

One minute before June 18, the transaction amount of self-operated furniture in the first 10 minutes increased by 278% year-on-year. On June 18th, the turnover of international imported brand furniture increased by 482% compared with last year. Among them, mattress brand Simmons's turnover on the 18th increased by 544% year-on-year.

 

Trend 3: Personalized highlights, original furniture has sprung up

During the period of 618, the transaction value of Jingdong original brand furniture increased by 121% year-on-year. On June 18th, the transaction volume of mid-to-high-end original brand Shanyin's products increased by 4,000% year-on-year.

 

On June 18th, the turnover of mahogany furniture increased by 105% year-on-year. The limited edition of the Forbidden City, which was specially launched by the Lama's Palace of Redwood Furniture, was particularly popular.

 

Trend 4: Pursue exclusive custom homes, full house customization

Throughout the whole day of June 18, the total transaction volume of the whole house increased by 70% year-on-year, of which the turnover of Oppein increased by 533.11%, the turnover of Paterson increased by 1689.75%, and the transaction value of Sogal increased by 642.23%.

 

Trend 5: Focus on health, healthy learning, efficient office, entertainment, comfortable sleep

On June 18, the turnover of the lift table increased by 244% year-on-year; in the first 10 minutes of June 18, the turnover of the e-sports chair increased by 2767%, and the transaction value of the study table and chair set increased by 384%.

 

Trend 6: Relieve housework and liberate hands, popularize smart furniture

In the first 10 minutes of June 18, the sales volume of smart clothes dryers increased by 1500% year-on-year; on June 1, the transaction volume of the whole day reached 27 times of the same period of last year.
