The latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) show that in October, sales of furniture by enterprises above designated size amounted to 15.7 billion yuan, up 1.3% from October last year. This is the second time this year that domestic furniture consumption has achieved positive year-on-year growth in monthly sales. The first positive growth occurred in May, up 3 per cent year-on-year. 1 to October, furniture sales still fell 8.7 per cent year-on-year.

In September, sales of furniture by enterprises above designated size sold 15.7 billion yuan, or 0.6 per cent year-on-year, followed by a 4.2 per cent year-on-year decline in August, a 3.9 per cent decline in July, a 1.4 per cent decline in June and a 3 per cent increase in May.
