On April 8th, Alibaba's e-commerce sales data on all platforms were announced in March.


According to reports, the software home furnishing category on Alibaba's entire platform continued the high boom since April 2020, and the online penetration rate continued to increase. In March, the entire network turnover was 4.042 billion yuan, an increase of 62.7% year-on-year. At the brand level, traditional top brands and Internet brands have their own highlights. For example, Cherrs’ turnover for three consecutive months in 2021 increased by over 80% year-on-year.


The top Internet furniture brands are growing rapidly. For example, Linshimuye'continues to maintain a high growth rate, with a year-on-year growth rate of 69% in the first quarter. Among the listed companies, KUKA Home continued its online momentum in the second half of 2020, and the official flagship store sales in March increased by 87.6% year-on-year. Cherrs is actively working online and expanding its brand voice through high-frequency live broadcasts. Tmall’s official flagship store has a turnover of 297 million yuan in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 145%. It is reported that Cherrs started from the single chair category with lower consumption threshold, and gradually expanded to massage chairs, mattresses and other categories with higher customer unit prices, fully catering to market demand, gradually extending the category width, and continuously strengthening online refined operations.


According to research reports, software home furnishing is in the stage of accelerating its market share increase. The domestic market has a good competitive structure. The current home furnishing industry has good growth. Leading companies such as Kuka and Man Wah will focus on more resources in fast-growing online channels, further releasing the development potential.
