The 12th annual meeting of ISO/TC136 (the Furniture Standardization Committee of the International Standardization Organization) held recently in Shanghai and approved a standard proposal by China on the strength and durability of single level bed.

This is the first furniture standard project by China that set up in ISO. The new work group about bed test measures is to be led by Ms Luo Jufen, the Chief Secretary of China National Committee of Furniture Standardization.

ISO/TC 136 is the most important authority of world’s furniture standardization. More than 50 representatives from China, the USA, Australia, Britain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Malaysia took part in the annual meeting in Shanghai and discussed the standardization issues of some furniture categories mainly focus on the mechanical properties and safety performance.
