The authentic Beijing movies and the mottled bricks and tiles in the hutongs tell the long history of Beijing. Along the central axis of Beijing, the ruins of the imperial city line up one after the other, which is a strong feeling of old Beijing; Beijing is also a modern city full of brilliance, the bright night view of tall buildings, the bar street in Sanlitun and the graffiti loft in 798 make Beijing glow like never before.
The splendor of Beijing is far more than that. The former site of Bainaohui on Chaoyangmenwai Street has been changed to a new post-modern landmark building-Markor Cave.
"Cave Xue" refers to academies located in famous mountains and resorts in the Tang Dynasty of China. Markor Cave mainly expresses the inheritance and innovation of human art and culture from cave shelters to indoor cave dwellings. It is also an exploration and research on the development of new retail art.
Markor Cave-a new retail art space, composed of cave art (housewares), fashionable catering (afternoon tea, bar, theme restaurant) and cultural leisure (book bar, art and cultural creation), providing consumers with living rooms cultural "five senses", artistic lifestyle, consumer goods and artistic experience.
Markor Cave uses caves as the image carrier. The facade is modern and simple. The volume of the ordered team is like the white stone falling from the sky, calm and heavy; the graceful and rich melody lines make it look like natural and agile white wings, aesthetic and light. The process of pursuing art is actually exploring a better expression of life.
Shared Area Scene Description
01 Book Sculpture
Sculptures with books as artistic modeling, surrounded by ribbons, sacred and beautiful, carry the mission and responsibility of the human civilization inheritance under the Silk Road context, and the designer's creative concept is also recorded. The engraved text on the front provides a refined interpretation of the Markor Cave: Markor C.A.V.E. (Center for Artistic Visual Experience)-New Retail Art Space.
02 Qiuci Cave
The Qiuci Cave is located above the main entrance of the Markor Cave. It serves as a light well inside the building. With a unique design, it introduces the natural light from the top of the building into the room, becoming the most poetic interpretation of "a unique cave".
03 Beam Mural
Entering the cave museum, the designer cleverly combined the Qiuci murals with the original building structure, giving it a brand-new vitality and aesthetic connotation. Each mural carries rich content and uses dark green on a large area, forming a strong color contrast with the surrounding pure white environment. It has strong decorative and visual impact, balanced and full, magnificent and rich in order.
04 Robotic Arm Device
The installation art of Cave Pavilion, with the performance of "Smart Manufacturing and Industrial Application on the Internet", provides consumers with a window to understand smart manufacturing and Markor Furnishings's advanced production system. The "Scientific and Artistic" performance form of the robotic arm makes it one of the most not-to-miss check-in spots in the museum.
05 Grotto Ladder
The cave ladder is a staircase connecting the B1 and the backyard of the second floor of Markor Cave. It is designed with a double-rotating structure inside and outside. The outer side is decorated with a number of cave rocks of different sizes, which is full of impression; the inner side of the rotating ladder is composed of three mineral pigments, "stone green, lapis lazuli, and cinnabar" commonly seen in the murals of Qiuci, with bright colors and strong contrast.
06 Art Exhibition
Gibran once said: "If you sing beauty, even if you are in the center of the desert, you will have an audience." Art is a state of life, and art can be truly reflected in life. In the shared space in the museum, various forms of artworks, sculptures, prints, bronzes, etc. can be seen everywhere... using art to tell modern people's pursuit of life.
07 Western Region Canyon
The Western Region Canyon is located on the lighting roof of the atrium on the third floor. The shape is inspired by the landform of Baiyadan Canyon of the Western Region and retains the irregular rock wall streamlines of the natural landform to the greatest extent. The afternoon sun pours in, even if you drink coffee in the museum, you can always maintain the echo and communication with nature.
08 SKY Space
SKY Space aims to provide a lightweight, multi-functional, and movable art activity space for different artists, designers, cultural scholars, etc. The venue covers an area of nearly 300 square meters, the layout is complete and transparent, and the visual effect is good. It ensures the flexibility of site design for different themed events. It can host academic seminars, important conferences, media conferences, arts and cultural activities, festivals, etc. The important structure of the cave school space guarantees the surrounding environment and vision, and adds points to the experience and quality of the theme activities.
09 Book Nest
The book nest grid is located in the light jue of Markor Cave, with a giant bookshelf connecting the first and second floors of the light jue space from the bottom to the top. Those who pass through the spiral staircase can reach the display area of the bookshelf at their fingertips. The space utilization and design perspective are very clever. They choose books of interest, sit on the ground, and enjoy a moment of relaxation on the spot.
