According to the licensing agreement, ApoloSpuma will not seek to replicate current Carolina Mattress Guild product offerings internationally, but will instead produce an all-new luxury line, tailored to its Brazilian market, under the CMG brand.
"They saw the value in the Carolina Mattress Guild name and story, and the power of the family owned business model," said Phil Grigg, director of operations for CMG. "We're excited to be working with ApoloSpuma, and we're looking forward to a long, mutually beneficial collaboration."
"Brazil is an emerging market that is experiencing a lot of growth," said Ricardo Christofoletti, CEO of ApoloSpuma. "There are many people looking for the best luxury mattresses available, so this partnership is coming at a great time. I am so proud to be a part of this venture."
ApoloSpuma was founded in 1966 in the historic city of Itu in São Paulo, Brazil. The company is vertically integrated, pouring its own foams and producing coils in-house to reduce carbon emissions, minimize waste and increase efficiency and quality control, officials said.
Founded in 1991 by Neal and Kathy Grigg, Carolina Mattress Guild is a family owned and operated bedding maker based in Thomasville.
