Patella Woodworking to Celebrated Official Opening of New Manufacturing Plant in Passaic County
    March 28,2016

TRENTON, N.J. – Patella Woodworking to celebrated the official grand opening of its new 89,000 square foot headquarters and manufacturing plant in Passaic County. Patella relocated from Orangeburg, New York. The 70-employee plant ies expected to add 100 workers over two years.

Because the State of New Jersey is making a renewed effort to attract businesses, Acting Governor Kim Guadagno came to cut the ribbon.

“We are excited to welcome Patella back home and return 70 jobs to where they belong, here in New Jersey,” said Acting Governor Kim Guadagno. “The return also brings with it an expected 100 additional positions over the next two years. This company is exactly the type of investment we need to attract to New Jersey as it will benefit taxpayers, and provide an economic boost to Passaic. And so today is a happy reunion, as we join the City and County of Passaic in welcoming Patella Woodworking back to New Jersey.”

Patella Woodworking, recognized for its high level of quality in the production and installation of premium grade architectural woodwork, relocated to New York from Jersey City in 2012. The company’s decision to return to New Jersey was supported by a Grow NJ award from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. The $10.3 million award encouraged the manufacturer to purchase the former site of the Hercules Chemical Company in the City of Passaic.

“This has truly been a team effort involving the state, as well as the county and city of Passaic. In addition, without the support and dedication of the NJ Business Action Center, I do not know if this return to NJ would have been possible,” said Michael Ostroff, CEO of Patella Woodworking.

“We are thrilled to be back in the Garden State and look forward to creating new jobs in the City of Passaic.”
Also in attendance at today’s ribbon cutting were City of Passaic Mayor, Alex Blanco and Passaic County Freeholder Director, Theodore Best.

“Our staff worked diligently with Mr. Ostroff throughout 2015, to ensure that the company would expand in Passaic County,” said Freeholder Director Best. “We are very proud of our business community and welcome Patella Woodworking to the County.”

“The City of Passaic works closely with our manufacturers,” said Mayor Blanco. “We look forward to a long and profitable relationship with Patella Woodworking.”

Patella Woodworking has sustained its reputation as an industry leader for more than 50 years. The company has an impressive array of customers, including Fortune 500 companies, the finest law and financial institutions, as well as high-end residences and five-star hospitality and retail environments.
