Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) announced today that nine pioneering interior design projects were selected as winners of the second annual ANDYZ design awards, a program created in partnership with the California Central/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) to recognize and celebrate the year’s best interior design. Projects by interior designers, architects and design students based in the region were honored July 31 at the Las Vegas Market, which runs through Aug. 4.

“Las Vegas Design Center and Las Vegas Market are delighted once again to partner with the local interior design community in spotlighting the ‘best of the best’ in trend-setting new design projects for residential, commercial and hospitality interiors,” says Karen Olson, Senior Vice President of Marketing, International Market Centers. “We are pleased with the high levels of interest and enthusiasm in the two-year-old ANDYZ awards program and welcome the opportunity to strengthen our ties with regional interior designers and to reinforce the positioning of Las Vegas Design Center and Las Vegas Market as the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States.”

The ANDYZ awards, short-hand for “Annual Nevada Design,” were created to recognize exceptional design from designers and design firms based in the Western United States. The 2016 ANDYZ winners are:

Laura Neuman, PepperJack, Loomis, CA, for “Interiors Individual Residential Design”
Cary Vogel, Interiors by Cary Vogel, Las Vegas, for “Multiple Residential Spaces”
Kathleen Jennison, KTJ Design Co., Stockton, CA, for “Residential Kitchen Design”

Sean Tanner, Boyd Gaming, Las Vegas, for “Individual Hospitality Design”

The ANDYZ Awards were open to all design firms, independent designers, and students located in states west of the Mississippi. Interior design projects in residential, commercial and hospitality categories were judged by a panel of professional ASID designers, and judging focused on five main criteria: presentation; innovation/creative use of space; scale and functionality; aesthetics, and overall execution.
