The Sustainable Furnishings Council is planning a special celebration to mark its 10th anniversary during the High Point Market, Oct. 22-26.

The fête — set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, at The Lofts at Union Square in High Point — will connect manufacturers, retailers, interior designers and affiliate partners who will be greeted by master of ceremonies Libby Langdon, interior designer, home furnishings licensee and television personality.

During the event, portions of which will be broadcast via Facebook Live, attendees will hear a message from former U.S. Vice President and environmental advocate Al Gore, the winners of SFC’s #GetYourGreenOn design competition, an announcement about a consumer-facing quality mark initiative and an update from the World Wildlife Fund on its Wood Scorecard Project.

The evening will also feature a raffle offering luxury vacations, fine art, jewelry and other exciting prizes, as well as local and organic food prepared by 1618 On Location and entertainment by Federico Pivetta & Friends, a local jazz and swing band.
