Man Wah Furniture recently announced that it has formed a partnership with renowned comedian/entertainer Jeff Foxworthy, that will culminate in the launch of the Jeff Foxworthy Home Collection this April at the High Point Market here.
According to Guy Ray, CEO of Man Wah USA, "We are extremely excited and proud to be launching the Jeff Foxworthy Home Collection at the upcoming High Point Market. The fact that this is the first time that Jeff is taking his name into the home furnishings arena makes this launch all the more special, Ray said, adding, "And this is also marks the first time that Man Wah has taken on a consumer brand through a licensing agreement."
"While I am perhaps best known for my comedy, I was extremely impressed with Man Wah on many levels," Foxworthy said. "In addition to building products that are good looking, comfortable and priced right, the company has earned the respect of retailers and consumers for quality, integrity and trust, all qualities that are equally important to me," he added.
Sources close to this partnership believe that Foxworthy's persona and brand, which go far beyond his comedy, will help make this a powerful alliance.
In addition to being one of the most respected and successful comedians in the nation, Foxworthy also has the distinction of being the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best-selling author of more than 26 books.
In 2014, he was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
Widely known for his redneck jokes, his act goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature, a style that has been compared to Mark Twain's.
American families welcomed Foxworthy into their homes each week as he hosted the popular Fox television game show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? and the series Blue Collar TV, which he created for the WB Network.
In addition to a successful career in comedy, recordings, TV shows, books and more, Foxworthy has also created an equally powerful footprint in retail. Jeff started his own outdoor company, Foxworthy Outdoors, which has a line products related to outdoor living. He has a line of You Might Be A Redneck If….calendars through Andrews McMeel Publishing, which has sold millions of copies. He also has his own line of food products, including Jeff Foxworthy's Grit Chips.
"As one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country, Jeff, via humor and laughter, connects with all people because of his values, both professionally and personally. His connection and trust with people will give consumers the added confidence when deciding to buy a home furnishing product. And if that were not enough, Jeff's powerful brand will also bring an unparalleled level of excitement to the retail selling floor, which is essential in today's highly competitive retail arena," Ray explained.
