LONDON — Amazon.co.uk has unveiled two furniture brands, Movian and Alkove, as its own first brands of furniture available in the UK.

The lines include products for the living room, dining room and bedroom. Lighting, additional home furnishings and textile items will be introduced to the brands in due course.

Movian offers modern, Scandinavian-inspired furniture, with pieces such as a minimalist single bed to a Japanese-inspired wardrobe .

Alkove is a high-end brand with pieces such as a handcrafted leather sofa, wild oak bed and extendable talbe made from solid beech wood.

The lines are available at amazon.co.uk/amazon-home.

Amazon has spent the past year making it clear that it has big plans for the furniture industry. The company has made many furniture headlines in 2018: for expanding its range of house brands in furniture and for launching three private-label furniture brands and three bedding lines.
