Curating Italian Innovations & Insights

Even with the industry’s focus squared firmly on the showcases of September, it’s done nothing to hinder the activity emerging from across the world this month. And as I piece together our exclusive findings from the road, I can’t wait for August to pass so we can add some of the most interesting Italian insights I’ve gathered to the headlines.

The video team and I will be back on the road next week to pick up on the next phase of our new project, but some of the findings emerging in post-production this week have been mind-blowing; however, as always, I’m getting ahead of myself and balancing on the edge of an embargo.

Luckily, the industry has taken my mind from the task at hand today as I collect the latest launches, designs, signings and sales that all came to the fore across the last few weeks.

Perini Navi gave us a starter-for-ten this week with the launch of their brand-new 60-metre sailing yacht Seven. It’s always a pleasure to see a new Perini reach the water, sailing or motor, and with the former’s latest addition comes an elegant new yacht with undeniable Italian elegance.

This follows another Italian sailing yacht launch, Tango. This is a vessel that combines the iconic Wally styling with flawless interior design of Pininfarina; a true modern-classic based on a proven Wallycento platform with updated Naval Architecture from Mark Mills.

Pershing presented their first-look at a world first this week as they progress further with the Pershing 140 and, with, closer to the superyacht market. Their largest yacht to date, this is an exciting, sleek and sporty project which I’m very much looking forward to seeing in the flesh upon launch.

One of the bigger breakthroughs to join Seven and the Pershing 140 in Italy was the introduction of a brand-new line from WIDER Yachts. The WIDER 130 is a stunning continuation of progressive thinking and next-generation technology that represents the very core of the WIDER strategy, and the new era it’s facing.

The latest new-building signing comes from Turkey this week where Numarine announced a new 32XP adventure boat for an American owner. Ideal for the tropics and journeys requiring a degree of autonomy, and another fantastic addition to the rising ‘far-reach’ fleet.
