You may have already had a taste of kayaking on a brief outing, via a "hard" rental boat. Enough to get a taste for it and want to own your own kayak, but there is no question of transforming your apartment into a boat park or exploding your holiday budget. This is precisely why inflatable models have been making a huge breakthrough on the market in recent years. Because, explains Aqua Marina – a brand already very noticed in the SUP, which has diversified in recent years in kayaking – these boats have everything to please.
1 Accessible to all
No need to be a pro to learn kayaking, solo or with your family. For a first approach we find today inflatable models in single-seater, two-seater, or three-seater versions. This is the case, for example, of Aqua Marina's Laxo range available in 3 lengths, ideal for those who are just starting out or at an intermediate level. But lovers of medium and long distances will not be disappointed either, the Memba range – available in 2 lengths – has been designed for medium distance hikes and for versatile use, with more storage space. Note that for a more committed practice or at sea, we will adopt specific models, more adapted to extreme conditions.
2 Easy to carry
No need for a gallery, everything fits in your car trunk or inside your van. And to carry your inflatable kayak, rubber handles make the operation very easy.
3 Easy to store
Space-saving, they are easily located in a closet, at home.
4 Easy and quick to inflate
The dimensions are substantial, – at Aqua Marina we find the Laxo range in 3 lengths: 285 cm (1 person), 320 cm (2 people) and 380 cm (3 people) – but in any case, it will take you a few minutes to inflate a kayak, thanks to the Boston valves and the pump provided by the manufacturer.
5 Significantly lighter than a conventional
model When a two-seater polyethylene kayak weighs a minimum of 35 kg, it takes half as much for an inflatable kayak of the same capacity, or 17.5 kg. Even lighter, the mono models weigh only 11.2 kg at Aqua Marina.
6 Solid and reliable
Once well inflated, these kayaks are almost as rigid as conventional models. They will allow you to descend safely. The floor and the upper part of the shell of the Laxo model, for example, are made of highly resistant polyester for greater durability, rigidity and for long-lasting UV protection. Finally its bow is waterproof to splashes. Also noteworthy on this model, an elastic load rope at the bow and stern.
On more hike-oriented models, such as the Memba, the strength is further enhanced by a 7 cm PVC high-pressure Drop Stitch seat, a removable and rigid high-pressure bridge 7 cm thick (for better stability and rigidity) and the use of 0.7 mm 500Dtex PVC. Finally, the integration of two horizontal tubes makes the boat very stable and safe.
