For the past 85 years, Mulder has built aluminum yachts from its family-owned facility in Zoeterwoude in the Netherlands. When the owners of Seaflower went to the yard for a new build, they were greeted with an offer they couldn’t refuse: a 12-month build time for the 118-footer, with the option to customize and, resale value in mind, instant pedigree from a Dutch shipyard.

The 182.9-metre, record-breaking research expedition vessel REV Ocean has resumed construction at one of Vard's facilities in Norway with an expected new length of 194 metres. BOAT International has confirmed that delivery is scheduled for February 2025, with REV Ocean expected to become fully operational from Q4 2026. Construction on REV Ocean paused in 2021, but the shipyard has affirmed that its vision for the vessel remains "unchanged" and work will be done to improve its functionality. This includes an amidships extension of 12 metres and a rearranged layout that sees "more space and increased science capacity in the main hangar of the vessel".

Damen Yachting has launched the 74m Amels 242 and the 60m Amels 200 this week. The new Amels Limited Editions superyachts are the first two yachts the Dutch shipyard has launched on the same day in its history. Both yachts feature customised Amels Limited Editions exteriors by designer Tim Heywood, with the semi-custom offering allowing owners to design the interiors. Whilst unconnected, both owners opted to commission Winch.

Rodriguez Design’s latest superyacht concept is for the new wave of seafarers. Christened Azua, the 207-footer was designed for “young owners looking for the thrills of a fast boat and the comforts of a superyacht,” according to studio founder Josh Rodriguez. The sailor-turned-designer adds that the next generation of owners appears to favor sleek, stylish, and speedy vessels over traditional displacement yachts with bulky profiles and modest power.

A $504,500 price drop has been announced on the 39.6-metre motor yacht Sarabeth, listed with Alex Rogers of Northrop & Johnson. Sarabeth was built in GRP by American yard Westport and delivered in 2013. The Gregory Marshall-designed vessel is MCA-compliant and ABS-classed. Westport's in-house team designed her interior.
