The sandy shores of Shelter Island’s Sunset Beach were lined with all manner of restomod cars when I visited Long Island at the end of the summer—Ford Bronco this, Corvette Stingray that. You get the picture. The classic lines of these vehicles harkened to a past the owner may be trying to regain, or maybe never even actually had at all. But the throaty roars of restored engines and the pristine interiors pointed to something much more forward-thinking.

Following her US debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Sunreef Yachts has offered a first look inside the 23.8-metre Sól. The catamaran was delivered in September as the first unit in Sunreef's 80 Power Eco series. Custom-built for a family of environmentally minded yacht owners, Sól touts a stand-out design that includes the "biggest battery bank" seen on a sub-24-metre leisure craft.

Quick Group, a global leader in nautical equipment and owned by Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, Armònia SGR, and the Marzucco family, has taken a significant stride in its supply chain consolidation project with the acquisition of XENTA Systems S.r.l. The deal involves obtaining 100% ownership of XENTA, renowned for its specialized development and production of integrated control systems for yachts and superyachts.

Windy Scandinavia unveiled its all-new outboard-powered Windy 40 Camira SX at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) this week. The boat is equipped with Yamaha outboard engines, triple Yamaha 300hp or twin Yamaha 450hp.

Feadship has launched the 80-metre Project 714 at its facility in Papendrecht, the Netherlands. Delivery is anticipated for 2025. Built in steel and aluminium, Project 714 has an approximate volume of 2,500 GT. Very little detail has been disclosed on the new build since construction began in early 2021. The imagery, however, reveals characteristic Feadship lines, including a subtle clipper bow with expansive on-deck space.
