Wyndham Hotel Group to continue expansion in Indonesia

Wyndham Hotel Group is expanding its presence even further across the Asia Pacific region with the addition of a new Wyndham Hotels and Resorts-branded hotel in Indonesia’s Lombok Island. PT Wisata Bahagia Indonesia is heading the development of the all-suite Wyndham Lombok Sundancer Resort opening in mid-2018 as part of a management agreement with Indonesian Wyndham Hotel Group subsidiary PT Wyndham Hotel Management.

The Wyndham Lombok Sundancer resort has 66 suites on approximately 119 acres of beachfront land in Southern Lombok. The new property is close to Desert Point, Mount Rinjani volcano and Lombok International Airport.

The hotel company's portfolio has more than 110 hotels throughout Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim, 11 of which are branded under its Wyndham Grand, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, and Wyndham Garden chains. Wyndham has recently revved up its focus in the region, as seen in its acquisition of five managed hotels under the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and the Wyndham Grand brands in Bali and Palembang, Indonesia and Cam Ranh and Nha Trang in Vietnam in late October this year.
 
Opening this month, the Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali near Dreamland Beach has 190 suites and villas. The 259-guestroom Wyndham OPI Hotel Palembang will open later in March 2018 in Sumatra's new OPI entertainment precinct. It is set to be the first five-star hotel from international chain in the city.
 
Also set for a March-2018 opening, the 423-guestroom Wyndham Grand Cam Ranh in Vietnam is being developed on an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman. On the same 2.5-acre mixed-use development in Cam Ranh Bay, the 855-guestroom Wyndham Cam Ranh will open a year late on the Long Beach oceanfront. The 1,079-guestroom Wyndham Resort Tropicana Nha Trang is also set for a 2019 opening as part of a $200-million mixed-use development. It will have two 50-story towers with hotel guestrooms and condominiums.
