IndexBox Marketing has just published a new report “EU: Wooden Furniture Of A Kind Used In The Bedroom - Market Report. Analysis And Forecast To 2020”.

In 2015, EU exports of wooden bedroom furniture finally regained their pre-crisis level. Increased demand from Switzerland and the U.S. helped to support EU producers overcome the current weak domestic market and reduced exports to Russia.

Total EU wooden bedroom furniture exports reached 2,514 million EUR in 2015. After posting robust numbers in 2007 and 2008, a sharp drop in 2009 continued slightly in 2010, followed by a slow but sure recovery over the next five years. In 2015, EU wooden bedroom furniture total exports overcame their pre-recession exports level.

Germany (19%), Poland (17%), Italy (15%) and Denmark (10%) were the main suppliers of wooden bedroom furniture amongst the EU members, with a combined share of 62% in 2015. From 2007 to 2015, Poland (+5.9% per year) was the fastest growing supplier amongst the leaders. Moreover, Poland strengthened its position in terms of European exports, while the others leaders saw their shares reduced.

Most exports were a result of inter-EU trade with only 35% of total exports in 2015 generated by shipments beyond the EU area. Extra-EU exports of wooden bedroom furniture reached 886 million EUR that year, rising by 6% against the previous year.

Consequently, the extra-EU exports share in terms of EU total wooden bedroom furniture output increased to 14% in 2015.

The U.S., Switzerland and Russia had been the main foreign markets for many years. Increased demand from foreign markets has provided significant support to EU producers, while the domestic market has fluctuated, indicating a downward trend in recent years, but recovering in 2015. Exports to the USA and Switzerland are driving the expansion of the EU wooden bedroom furniture industry, partly offsetting the contraction in exports to Russia.

“EU: Wooden Furniture Of A Kind Used In The Bedroom - Market Report. Analysis And Forecast To 2020” focuses on the EU bedroom wooden furniture market, providing a comprehensive analysis and the most recent data on its market size and volume, EU trade, price dynamics, domestic production, and turnover in the industry. The market trends section reveals the main issues and uncertainties concerning the industry, while the medium-term outlook uncovers market prospects. The attractivity index (IB Index) summarizes the source of existing opportunities as they appear in this market, as well as an interpretation of the trade figures.
