The 39.6-metre Heesen motor yacht Lionshare has had a change of central agency and is now listed for sale with Mark Elliot of IYC. Lionshare was built with an aluminium hull and superstructure and delivered by Heesen in 1987 to a design by Mulder. She is offered for sale fresh from a large-scale refit last year, with upgrades including new navigation equipment on the bridge, electronic upgrades throughout, new wood flooring and carpeting, new furniture and a refreshed colour scheme. Lionshare has also recently completed her 35-year ABS special survey.

Italian builder Wider Yachts has joined the hull and superstructure of its superyacht project Moonflower, bringing the 72-metre custom build another step closer to launch. Machinery and interior outfitting is progressing, with the next substantial stage being the installation of its main engines later this summer. Delivery is scheduled for 2025 after the contract for the yacht was signed in January 2022.

Superyacht crossings across the Panama Canal are still available despite minor delays of a maximum of two days on an unbooked crossing, and only one if it has been prebooked. However, following an announcement from authorities today, this could potentially be the case for the next 10 months.

Mengi Yay has delivered the first hull in its Virtus 39 series following successful sea trials in Istanbul. Named Reverie, the 39.4-metre yacht is the second project delivered by the Turkish shipyard this year, with the first being the 43-metre Gisa.

New York architecture firm Gill Schmid Design has revealed its 65-metre explorer concept, Synaesthesia. The yacht would be built at Dörries Yachts in Germany and has been designed for an “adventure-seeking owner” who envisions themselves living "the James Bond lifestyle".
