Exciting complex aromas erupt from the glass reminiscent of dried cherry, bramble fruits and hints of citrus intersperse with savoury herbs, tobacco and sweet mint. The rich, full and textural palate delivers similar flavours and boasts delicious sweetness, which is balanced by mouth-watering acidity. Would be a generous contribution to a dark chocolate torte, a pungent cheese platter, or by itself.
An excellent harvesting temperature for Icewine, minus 12°C, was the key condition that enabled Strewn to produce the high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Icewine. This temperature, which is four degrees colder than the required minimum, accentuates the natural flavour concentration that occurs when the grapes freeze on the vine. The result was a rich, sweet juice that slowly fermented for 7 months in stainless steel tanks.
This Icewine can be served slightly chilled as an aperitif before a meal, as an accompaniment for a rich appetizer such as foie gras, or at the end of a meal.
