Lovely and Complex aromas reminiscent of peaches, apricots and pineapple mingle with more exotic guava and tamarind nuances. The fruit laden palate is followed by hints caramel and finishes with zesty notes of tangerine and grapefruit. This versatile icewine can be enjoyed as an appetizer with cheeses like aged Cheddar, Roquefort, or Stilton.
The harvest arrived at the optimum time for the 2017 vintage with cold temperatures that enabled picking to begin in the Niagara Peninsula in late December. At Strewn, the grapes had remained on the vine for a full two months beyond normal harvest, allowing the flavours to fully develop as we waited for the cold to arrive. Picking occurred on December 28 at -11°C.
Serve as a desert on its own or with Portuguese custard tarts, apple pie and even on ice cream.
