This icewine is full, with complex aromas of strawberry, dried cherry, raspberry, raisin and a touch of rhubarb. On the palate the wine is rich in flavours starting with red fruits going along with dark and dried fruits, the acidity balances very well with the sweetness which delivers a clean and long finish.
The harvest arrived at the optimum time for the 2017 vintage with cold temperatures that enabled picking to begin in the Niagara Peninsula in late December. At Strewn, the grapes had remained on the vine for a full two months beyond normal harvest, allowing the flavours to fully develop as we waited for the cold to arrive. Picking occurred on December 28 at -11°C.
Cambozola cheese, Double chocolate gateau, Roquefort cheese
