This wine coffee is not a coffee mixed with wine (no alcohol mixture).
Wine coffee is made from high quality arabica red coffee beans. The seeds are taken from a coffee tree grown in the Highlands in Sumatera island of Indonesia which altitude reached 1500 meters above sea level. This quality coffee beans are oval-shaped with a light brown color.
Coffee skin that grows at an altitude above 1500 meters are thicker and more nutritious than the coffee skin that grows in the lower regions. This selected coffee beans are then hand picked with its skin intact and then fermented in a long time. The sensation of taste and aroma of "wine" is so strong in this coffee occurs because it takes up to 45 days to process including few fermentation and drying processes. During this period, all the aromas produced by this fermented coffee skin are absorbed by the coffee beans.
Once its dry, then the whole coffee beans are being grind by grinding machine to produce ready roasting coffee beans. When being grind, more than 50% of the coffee produced is broken and not qualified to be roasted into quality coffee bean.
The combination of all these uniqueness and complicated process makes this coffee price well above the average coffee price. The selling price of this coffee, equivalent to the price of civet coffee.
