As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, Swedish home furnishings giant Ikea released its 2019 catalog with seven lifestyle stories featured throughout.
The stories, chosen with seven distinct homes, include a space-limited apartment serving a large family, an eco-friendly home and more. The stores are selected from its Life at Home report, which is derived from research, including home visits, interviews and surveys.
“For 75 years, we have been driven by the belief that furniture can be affordable without sacrificing principles of quality, design and sustainability,” said Shideh Hashemi, Ikea U.S. marketing manager. “In our 2019 catalog, we are thrilled to introduce a multitude of exciting new products that stay true to our heritage, providing form and function that’s both easy on our wallets and our planet.”
Imagery from the seven home scenarios take up around 100 pages in the 288-page catalog.
In addition to the homes, new products include the Vadholma kitchen storage series, inspired by the style of old bakeries and butcher shops; the Besta Vasskiven door, with a hexagon pattern that gives a 3-D effect; and the Sammanhang storage pieces.
Additionally, to celebrate the 75th anniversary, Ikea will bring back vintage designs from as far back as the 1950s throughout the year under the name Gratulera.
The 2019 Ikea catalog is available to the public starting this month.
