A Chinese manufacturer of mattresses and upholstery has developed a new line of swivel gliders and glider recliners that the company said is designed by moms to achieve a new level of comfort and value in the category.

The Baby Surfer line, which will debut at the Sept. 11-14 China Furniture Expo in Shanghai and also will show at the the October High Point Market, is produced by a manufacturer called Jiashan Haichuan Furniture Company Ltd. in Jiaxing City, located in the Zhejian Province.

The chairs are offered as both a three-way swivel glider recliner and a two-way swivel glider. Retailing from $399 to $599, there will be 13 chairs available at the Shanghai show and eight shown in High Point. The chairs feature custom performance fabrics that help guard against spills and other stains.

Chairs also feature a foam seat cushion, a comfort support foundation, and a foam and gel combination for lumbar support.

“Pregnancy and recovery is the same everywhere in the world,” said Julia Hujian, company spokesperson. “This chair was designed by young moms and can be useful anywhere in the world.”

The company said the line was developed in response to consumer demand and generational changes seeking comfort at affordable price points.

“These are uniquely designed for the post-pregnancy market and are soft where they should be and firm where they need to be,” Hujian said, adding that the packaging and value store make the line ideal for e-commerce.

The chairs can be shipped in one box which the company said makes it simple to purchase, inventory and reship, including through e-commerce channels. It also has a five-year warranty on frames and two year warranty on the mechanism, fabric and foam.

The manufacturer was founded in 2009 and specializes in OEM production foam and memory gel fabrication for high-end mattresses as well as stationary and motion upholstery. The 215,000-square-foot factory, which has a capacity of more than 200 containers per month, currently ships to Europe as well as North and South America.

The products can ship on mixed containers from Asia and also are warehoused in High Point.

In Shanghai, the company is showing in booth number W5-E10. A showroom space for the High Point Market has not yet been confirmed as of press time.
