On May 27th, Smith Leonard, an American accounting and consulting company, released the latest Furniture Insights report.

According to its latest survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors, new orders in March 2021 increased by 96% year-on-year. Starting in March 2020, the COVID-19 epidemic has really started to affect the lives of Americans, and many companies have stopped work because of this, so there is a big gap between this year's data and this year's data.

Comparing the order volume in March this year with March 2019 before the epidemic, orders still increased by 40%. This result shows that the market has a good development trend.

The number of new orders in the first quarter of 2021 has increased by 50% compared to the same period in 2020; compared with the first three months of 2019, it has increased by 38%.

Bubbles, container and labor shortages, coupled with transportation and other issues, have prevented shipments from keeping up with the growth in orders. Shipment volume in March 2021 increased by 34% year-on-year, and 19% year-on-year. Although the data has not kept up with the increase in orders, it has at least rebounded.

Year-to-date, shipments have increased by 19% over the same period in 2020 and 15% over the same period in 2019.

As orders surpassed shipments again, the backlog continued to grow. The data increased by 6% month-on-month, 251% year-on-year, and 229% year-on-year.
