Fred Murrow
He entered the business at around age 10, fueling trucks for his father, William C. Murrow. Fred worked his way through the company and assumed its leadership in 2005.
Murrow put plans in place so the business would carry on as usual, the company said. Murrow's has been in business for 72 years and top management has been in place for 25 to 40 years.
Fred Murrow is survived by his wife, a daughter, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, a mother-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at First Wesleyan Church, 1701 Westchester Drive in High Point. A celebration of life service will be held at the church at 2 p.m. Thursday, with interment to follow at Floral Garden Park.
