Gill Schmid Design’s latest superyacht concept caters to the growing number of eco-conscious seafarers. Christened Bloom, the 272-footer is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system that produces less carbon, noise, and vibrations than conventional gas-powered engines. The setup gives the vessel a top speed of 16.5 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots, and a range of 7,000 nautical miles at 11.5 knots. It’s not the newcomer’s only draw, of course.
