    Beneq’s Lumineq® displays, enabled by atomic layer deposition, are said to be the world’s most transparent and most reliable displays. The company believes they have a bright future. In this vision area, it looks at what that future could be like.

     

    The Finland-based firm has put some of today’s technical restrictions aside for a while and let imagination fly. Many of the images below are from student projects that Beneq regularly conduct with universities to broaden its horizons and to make sure that it doesn’t get stuck in old ways of thinking.

    Mojo Vision Introduce World’s Densest Micro LED Display For AR Applications

    Mojo Vision, a California-based startup focusing on invisible computing, revealed it Micro LED display featuring 14,000 PPI, which the company claimed to be the smallest and densest dynamic display ever made. The display sized only 0.48mm, same as a grain of sand but it can deliver a pixel density 300 times greater than current smartphone displays. The prototype technology uses Micro LEDs and is expected to be applied in wearable devices including AR/VR hardware and heads up displays (HUDs).

    Telensa, the provider of connected street lighting and smart city data applications, announced that it has joined the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program to deliver streetlight-based smart city applications,using smartphone AI technology.

    Telensa to Provide Smart Street Lighting Infrastructure for UK City

    Telensa, expert in smart street lighting and smart city applications, announced that it has been selected by the council of Sandwell in UK to provide a smart street lighting solution as part of the region’s 2030 Vision Initiative. The Council plans to install nearly 4,000 lights by 2020, with the intention to increase this to over 11,000 by 2022, which will be wirelessly connected and managed using Telensa’s PLANet system. The Council is also converting all their streetlights to LED as part of the upgrade. PLANet will give the Council control over lighting levels, allowing them to remotely tailor for each location, in addition to energy and maintenance cost savings.
