    The university of California (UC) university system and its strategic partners announced that they are buying one million high-quality LED transformation lamps, part of a project called the million lamp challenge. The program will include partnerships with California state university system and the California community college system, and will work with California state university's public services department. Part of the project is the action of the California lighting technology center (CLTC) at the university of California, Davis.
